FLYBALL

Flyball is a fast, competitive sport for dogs of any breed or mix. There are 4 dogs in the line up and each dog must jump over 4 hurdles, hit a pedal on a spring loaded box to release a tennis ball and carry the tennis ball over the 4 hurdles past the start line. The next dog is released to do the same thing until all 4 dogs on the team have completed their run. You race against another team of 4 dogs and the best time wins the heat. Win the majority of heats and you win the race. Teams are put in divisions based on their total time so the races are fair and everyone can be as competitive within their division as they choose. Flyball improves recalls, attention, confidence to work independently and the relationship with the handler.

About the Instructor: (Traci Betts)

Animals are Traci's passion. Traci works a full time job in the corporate world that she enjoys but does not love, so recently Traci has started dog training part time to get back to what she loves most. During high school Traci work at an animal hospital which taught her a lot about how to approach and handle unknown dogs. Traci has adopted many dogs and has also taught many people dog behavior and training. Traci shares her life with 7 dogs that are all very different from one another. Each work, train and interact in various way which at times has been a challenge but has also taught her so much over the last few years. Because of some of the challenges faced Traci has attended many seminars and classes on training and dog behavior and loves to share that knowledge with others. Each dog entered in the flyball class will be handled on an individual basis and work at their pace to keep the training fun and successful. All methods fo training used are positive and motivating to the dog and handler.
