Linda Knowles begin her agility career in 1997, training with Debbie Spence of Pawsitive Agility Working School and then with Laura Yarlborough of Chuting Stars Agility School. Linda also spent 2 years teaching at Chutting Stars before opening Gold Medal Dog Training Center.
Linda has attended many seminars in agility and obedience including seminars with Gerianne Darnell, Elicia Calhoun, Susan Garrett, Kathie Leggett, Stuart Mah, Greg Derrett, Rachel Sanders, Christine Charpentier, Stacy Peardot-Goudy, Rhonda Carter and Linda Mecklenberg , as well as attending the United States Dog Agility Association (USDAA) Judge’s seminar in 2002, where she learned course designing and building as well as the detailed rules of USDAA.
Linda and her Jack Russell, Fox Chase Maddy, were members of the 2004 World Team winning an overall team gold medal in Spain. Linda also has 2 other Jack Russells, Charlie Creek MacDuff and Fox Chase Megan and 1 Border Collie, Zip, competing as well as 2 puppies, Gold Medal Miss M and Gold Medal Booster, in training.
Linda believes in building a strong relationship between dog and handler with positive training methods giving the dog a solid foundation to build upon. She attends seminars yearly to stay current in both agility and obedience. In 2008 Linda attended the White Mountain Agility (WMA) Instructor’s Seminar with Julie Daniels and became a WMA Certified instructor. She also recently passed the Canine Good Citizen Evaluator examine and is now certified to conduct testing and is a member of the Association of Certified Pet Dog Trainers Association.
